First televised debate between McCain and Obama kicks off in Mississippi

The first televised debate between US presidential candidates Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain began Friday evening in Oxford, Mississippi.
The first subject under discussion by the Republican and Democrat candidates was the correct policy for handling the financial crisis.
The United States' foreign policy is expected to be another major subject of discussion.
