Foreigners warned against Philippine terror

The Australian government warned its citizens of possible terror attacks in the Philippines Saturday, while Americans were advised not to travel to a southern region which may be hit by bomb attacks. Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, the most senior member of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's Cabinet, downplayed the warnings as "normal" for the US and Australian governments. In a travel advisory Saturday, Australia said there was a "high threat of terrorist attack" in the Philippines.
