German prosecutors say two ethnic Somali terrorism suspects who were arrested aboard a plane will be held in custody pending possible charges.
Bonn prosecutors' spokesman Friedrich Apostel says there is reason to believe the two men planned an attack "in the near future."
A Bonn court on Saturday ordered the two held in custody.
The 23-year-old Somali and a 24-year-old German born in Somalia were taken off a KLM flight at Cologne-Bonn airport as the plane prepared to depart for Amsterdam on Friday morning.
Authorities have said they found suicide notes by the two suspects proclaiming their desire to fight in a holy war and die in a terrorist attack, but said it did not appear the two planned to hijack the plane.
