A number of US senators were evacuated from their offices on Capitol Hill in Washington DC after a hazardous materials alarm sounded Wednesday.
CNN reported that a "suspicious package" had been delivered earlier in the day.
Eight senators and some 200 staffers were being kept in quarantine.
