Hurricane Dean drops to Category 3 storm

The National Hurricane Center said Tuesday afternoon that Hurricane Dean has weakened to a Category 3 storm with top sustained winds of 125 mph (201 kph). It crashed into the Caribbean coast of Mexico earlier, the strongest hurricane to hit land in the Atlantic region since 1988.
