Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi has confirmed Italy's willingness to command UN force in Lebanon, sources said on Monday night. United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan said that a decision would be made regarding Prodi's offer by the end of the week. The Italian PM's words came as a positive reaction to Ehud Olmert's request for Italy to lead the force on Sunday.
