Italy to send up to 3,000 peacekeepers to UNIFIL

Italy's foreign minister, Massimo d'Alma said Tuesday after a meeting in Cairo with his Egyptian counterpart, Ahmad Abdul'Gheit, that Italy was prepared to send up to 3,000 soldiers to Lebanon as part of the UNIFIL peacekeeping force expeced to deploy there.
