Kashmir: Grenade attack wounds nine

Suspected Islamic militants lobbed a hand grenade into a shopping area near the main city of India's portion of Kashmir on Sunday, wounding nine people, police said. The attackers threw the grenades from their moving vehicle in Avantipura, a town about 30 kilometers south of Srinagar in Jammu-Kashmir state, said Sardar Khan, a senior superintendent of police. No one claimed responsibility for the attack, Khan said.
