Kenya's president re-elected, elections chief says

President Mwai Kibaki was re-elected in the closest presidential election in the country's history, the elections chief said Sunday. The contest was marked by allegations of rigging on both sides. Elections chief Samuel Kivuitu, appearing on local television, read the results on live television after other media were kicked out of the main vote headquarters. He said Kibaki beat Raila Odinga by 231,728 votes. "This means Honorable Mwai Kibaki is the winner," Kivuitu said.
