London Deputy Mayor Nicky Gavron abruptly cancelled her participation in an international mayor's conference in Jerusalem, Jerusalem city officials said Wednesday. Gavron, who was due to attend the final day of the Jerusalem conference in lieu of London's controversial Mayor Ken Livingstone, notified Israeli officials that she would not be attending the event at all, a Jerusalem Municipality spokeswoman said. No reason was cited for the eleventh-hour cancellation. A spokeswoman for the City of London had no immediate comment Wednesday.
