Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has canceled a planned speech to the UN General Assembly because of the military coup that took place in his country on Tuesday. Thaksin earlier declared a state of emergency after army forces took over government buildings in Bangkok and declared martial law. Israel's foreign ministry urged travelers to consider canceling trips to Thailand.
