NATO will provide Serbia with details of the cluster bombs dropped when allied air strikes hit the Balkan nation during the 1999 Kosovo war, alliance spokesman James Appathurai said Wednesday. He told reporters the alliance would hand over a list of the cluster bombs dropped and their coordinates next week in response to a Serbian request made in February. NATO bombed Serbia for 78 days in 1999 to halt a brutal onslaught by then-President Slobodan Milosevic against ethnic Albanian separatists in Kosovo.
