Nepal's first president takes oath of office

Nepal's first president has been sworn into office after being elected earlier this week. Ram Baran Yadav took the oath at the presidential house in Katmandu on Wednesday in the presence of high level officials. The event was broadcast live on national television. The oath was administered by Chief Justice Kedar Giri. Yadav is the first president to take office in the Himalayan nation since its centuries-old monarchy was abolished in May by the Constituent Assembly
