New terminal opens at Rome's main airport for flights to US, Israel

A new terminal has opened at Rome's Leonardo da Vinci airport. New Terminal 5 will handle travelers flying to the United States with American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta, United and US Airways, as well as to Israel with El Al. Airport officials say starting Saturday, Terminal 5 will take in nearly 1 million passengers a year but has the capacity for 3 million a year. The terminal was built in six months at a cost of €12 million ($19 million). Officials say the new terminal will help reduce congestion at the airport.
