A ruptured gas pipeline exploded in Nigeria as villagers collected fuel from the conduit, killing more than 150 people and leaving charred bodies scattered around the blast site.
"Between 150 and 200 people died," Lagos Police Commissioner Emmanuel Adebayo told reporters at the scene, about 45 kilometers east of the main city of Lagos. Dozens of burned corpses lay on the ground.
