Pakistan bans rallies in capital

Authorities imposed a ban Saturday on rallies in the Pakistani capital ahead of a planned protest against protest Prophet Muhammad cartoons, a Cabinet minister said. "No party will be allowed to hold rallies in Islamabad on Sunday, and this decision has been conveyed to the leaders" of those radical Islamic groups who have issued a call for such a protest, Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed told a news conference.
