Pakistan said Wednesday that it will host a meeting of foreign ministers from Muslim nations to seek ways to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and bring peace to Iraq and Afghanistan. Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf recently toured the Middle East and Asia to promote his initiative to give Muslim countries a greater role in resolving conflicts in the Islamic world. Foreign Minister Khursheed Kasuri said in a statement Wednesday that Pakistan will host the meeting of foreign ministers on the suggestion of several Muslim leaders. He did not say when the meeting will be held or which countries will attend. Musharraf visited countries including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey and Iran in recent weeks to seek common ground for the initiative. However, he has made no concrete proposals on how to stabilize the Middle East.
