Passenger killed in bomb explosion aboard bus in Myanmar

A bomb exploded aboard a bus traveling north of Yangon, killing one passenger and injuring another, state media said Tuesday. The New Light of Myanmar newspaper did not say who may have been responsible for Monday's explosion on the bus, which was carrying 35 passengers. The military government in the past has blamed periodic bombings on internal dissidents, ethnic minority rebels or anti-government exiles along the Thai-Myanmar border. The explosion, which killed a 55-year-old man, occurred about 130 kilometers north of Yangon, the country's largest city, the newspaper said.
