Police find body of missing 5-year-old Spanish girl

Police on Friday found the body of a 5-year-old Spanish girl who went missing on January 13. The Civil Guard said the badly decomposed remains of Mari Luz Cortes were found floating Friday in an estuary near the southern city of Huelva. Huelva mayor Pedro Rodriguez said the child had been struck on the head but the cause of death was not known. Rodriguez declared three days of mourning starting Saturday. The child vanished when she went out to a newspaper stand to buy potato chips. Since then police and relatives and friends have staged a massive search. No arrests have been made in the case.
