The quartet issued a statement Monday night demanding Syria close its Islamic Jihad offices and make sure that instructions for terrorist activities are not dispatched from its territory. These statements came in response to the suicide bombing in Netanya Sunday, for which the Islamic Jihad took responsibility. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice responded to the attack, saying that the terrorist bombing in Netanya constituted an act by people who mean to delay peace between the Israelis and Palestinians.
