Report: Iranian police kill 24 drug smugglers in shootout

Iranian state radio says police have killed 24 alleged drug traffickers during a gun battle.
The report says Iranian police also confiscated a large amount of drugs after Sunday night's clash. It did not specify the amount or type of narcotics.
The incident occurred in Taybad district close to Afghanistan border about 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) east of the capital, Tehran.
