Russian troops seize town in western Georgia

Georgia's Defense Ministry spokeswoman says Russian armored vehicles have rolled into a Georgian military base in western Georgia. Spokeswoman Nana Intskerveli says Russian armored vehicles seized the Georgian military base in the town of Senaki. The statement indicates Russian troops have entered Georgia beyond the disputed territories and that they arrived from separatist province of Abkhazia. Most of Georgia's military forces are locked up in fighting around another breakaway region of South Ossetia.
