Skinheads accused in Obama plot to remain jailed

A federal magistrate said on Thursday that two white supremacists accused of plotting to kill Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and dozens of other black people must remain in jail. The magistrate granted a defense request to delay a hearing in Memphis, Tennessee, for 20-year-old Daniel Cowart and 18-year-old Paul Schlesselman. He ordered the two to stay behind bars. Their lawyers said they wanted more time to prepare for a hearing on whether the case is sent to a grand jury. The two were charged with possessing an illegal firearm, planning to steal weapons and threatening a presidential candidate.
