Spanish police make arrests in terrorism raids

Several people have been arrested in Spanish raids targeting groups suspected of collecting funds for Islamic terrorism groups, Spain's National Court said. A court spokeswoman says the raids were carried out before dawn Thursday in the northeastern towns of Santa Coloma de Gramanet y Badalona, near Barcelona. The spokeswoman says the raids were ordered by anti-terror Judge Baltasar Garzon and targeted people suspected of financing Islamic terrorism. The official was speaking on condition of anonymity in line with court rules. She did not say how many were arrested, but Cadena SER radio says at least four were detained.
