State media says cyclone kills 10,000 in one Myanmar town

Myanmar's state media says that last weekend's cyclone killed some 10,000 people in just one town, raising fears that the country's overall death toll will rise significantly. State television said Tuesday that the 10,000 perished over the weekend in the town of Bogalay in the country's Irrawaddy delta. Myanmar has appealed for urgent assistance from the international community in wake of the disaster.
