Former Democratic congressman Tom Lantos will be among six recipients honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Thursday.
America's highest civil award will be bestowed on Lantos, who passed away in February, in recognition of his championing of civil rights and his service as the only Holocaust survivor to become a member of Congress.
