The Turkish military on Friday warned Iraqi Kurds not to harm Turkish military monitors in northern Iraq. The military said Iraqi Kurds had stopped a group of Turkish officers in civilian clothes at a checkpoint near the northern Iraqi town of Sulaymaniyah and questioned them at gunpoint. The Turkish officers are in Iraq to monitor activities of separatist Kurdish rebels who stage attacks on Turkish soil from havens in northern Iraq.
