UK Poll says new leader will not help Labour party

An opinion poll suggests that Britain's ruling Labour party will lose the next election even if it swaps beleaguered prime minister Gordon Brown for a new leader. An ICM poll published in The Guardian newspaper Tuesday showed that voters would choose opposition leader David Cameron over Brown or his Foreign Secretary David Miliband. Miliband sparked rumors of a leadership challenge when he wrote a newspaper article arguing that his party needed to change after the government lost a series of local by-elections. Brown's popularity has been dented by falling house prices and rising costs of living.
