In a phone conversation with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Monday night, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon expressed support for the new Palestinian national unity government, but said that it must recognize Israel.
Further in the conversation, Ki-moon expressed his concern to Olmert about the excavation work currently taking place near the Mughrabi Gate.
