The State Department said Tuesday the United States continues to face the possibility of terror attacks against US citizens and interests overseas. It said in a "Worldwide Caution" that there has been no change from previous warnings about the possibility of al-Qaida attacks in Europe, Asia, Africa or the Middle East. Possible targets, it said, include high-profile sporting events, residential areas, business offices, clubs, restaurants, hotels, places of worship, schools, public areas and locales where Americans gather in large numbers, including during holidays. The statement strongly urged Americans overseas to maintain a high level of vigilance, be aware of local events and take appropriate steps to increase their personal security.
