US soldier killed by bomb in southern Baghdad

A roadside bomb killed a US soldier on a foot patrol in Baghdad, the military said Monday. The Multi-National Division - Baghdad soldier was killed Sunday in the southern part of the capital, according to a brief statement that provided no more details. The death raised to at least 3,527 members of the US military who have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
