The United States is interested in imposing economic and political isolation on Hamas in order to create as much difficulty as possible for the group in forming a government within the Palestinian Authority, said US Mideast envoy David Welch on Friday.
Welch made this statement in front of Congress following his visit to the Middle East, Israel Radio reported.
