Voting begins in East Timor for new president

Voting began Monday in East Timor for a new president, an election its people hope will end bitter political rivalries threatening the future of Asia's youngest nation. With a run-off predicted, some people fear the desperately poor country, pushed to the brink of civil war just one year ago, could be entering several more months of political instability.
