Iran summons British ambassador over court decision on opposition group

Iranian state radio says Teheran has summoned the British ambassador to protest a recent court verdict removing an Iranian opposition group from Britain's terrorist list. The report says Iran's deputy foreign minister for European affairs, Mehdi Safari, told British Ambassador Geoffrey Adams on Monday that the verdict was "politically motivated and unacceptable." Britain's Court of Appeals on Wednesday affirmed a lower court ruling that the People's Mujahedeen of Iran should not be listed as a terrorist organization. The radio report says Safari demanded Britain block the implementation of the verdict for the sake of relations between the two countries.
