Iran's education minister resigns

Iran's education minister resigned, the fifth change in President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's cabinet since 2005, state radio reported on Sunday. The report did not elaborate about reason of Mahmoud Farshidi's resignation however the country has been the scene of protest by teachers demanding higher wages in the past years, most recently in March. The ministry, which supervises education until the university level, is the largest government department in Iran with some one million employees.
