Iranian authorities have been holding a French academic under house arrest in Teheran for more than two months, the newspaper Le Monde reported Wednesday. The French Foreign Ministry had no immediate comment on the report. Le Monde said Stephane Dudoignon was arrested in the sensitive region of Sistan-Baluchestan, in southeastern Iran, on Jan. 30 after photographing a religious procession there. Dudoignon, a historian specializing in Islam, was stripped of his passport and transferred to the capital, Teheran. Dudoignon, who is married to an Iranian woman, is living with his wife's family. He is not authorized to leave Teheran, Le Monde said.
