El Al’s specially designed Dreamliner 787 will participate in the Israel Air Force’s festive air show this year to mark Independence Day.
El Al’s Dreamliner, named after the city of Rehovot, is the sixth of its kind purchased by the airline, and it is the only one designed in a retro style, painted as a tribute to El Al’s Boeing 707s that operated in Israel between 1961 and 1972.

The special design was created in honor of Israel’s 70th Independence Day last year.

The plane will fly at low altitude at the end of the show from north to south along the western coast. The plane is scheduled to take off at 12 noon from Ben-Gurion Airport.

The Boeing Dreamliner 787 is considered the world’s most advanced plane.

El Al began purchasing these planes on August 2017, owning nine of their kind as of 2019, and vowed to have a total of 16 by 2020.
