Police officers rescued a youth planning to commit suicide by jumping off a building in Haifa Sunday after receiving a report alerting the authorities to the situation.

Sergent Major Ronnie Dameen spotted the youth when his unit was sent to the scene of the incident.

Dameen proceeded towards the top of the building, broke through the door leading to the roof and slowly crawled towards the youth, fearing that his presence would cause the young man to lose his balance and fall.

With the help of a citizen already at the scene, Dameen pulled up the suicidal youth back onto the roof after he slipped off the side and almost fell to his death, thus saving his life.
