Five masked gunmen broke into an apartment in Kiryat Ekron on Wednesday night and robbed the tenants at gun- and knifepoint. The five entered the apartment, which housed a couple and their 15-year-old son, and hit the couple repeatedly before tying the family up in separate rooms. The robbers then demanded the key to the apartment's safe and stole NIS 15,000. Afterwards, it was reported, the five released the family and apologized, then fled. Police were conducting a manhunt for the perpetrators.
