Abbas: Peres denied saying that a peace agreement was impossible

President Shimon Peres called Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday and denied a report in Ha'aretz in which he was quoted as saying a peace agreement with the Palestinians was not possible in the foreseeable future, Abbas's office said. According to Ha'aretz, Peres had said that the PA president had lost his legitimacy, and as a result it would be impossible to come to a peace agreement with him.
