A deal to secure the release of captured IDF soldier Cpl. Gilad Schalit is expected to be finalized within two or three weeks, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said Wednesday. Abbas made the remark while talking to reporters after meeting Meretz Chairman Yossi Beilin in Ramallah. The two met as part of a visit by the heads of the Geneva Initiative. "There is a deal that the Egyptians are putting together between Israel and Hamas. They informed me that the deal will be finalized in two or three weeks but I do not have exact information," said Abbas.
