Adam Abutbul, son of crime boss shot Monday, arrested at B-G airport

Adam Abutbul, the son of Charlie Abutbul, who was shot and seriously wounded in an attempted mob hit in Netanya on Monday, was arrested at Ben-Gurion Airport on Wednesday evening after returning from New York. Adam Abutbul is the chief suspect in the recent stabbing of the brother of Reut Rubin, the prosecution's chief witness in the Ra'anan Levi murder case. Levi, who was 18 at the time of his death, was an outstanding student from Rishon Lezion who was murdered in 2004 after an altercation with another group of youths, who had allegedly called members of the Abutbul family in for backup. Levi attempted to flee but was stabbed to death outside of a nightclub in Shefayim. Abutbul's lawyer said the police's timing was not coincidental, adding that the police were deliberately targeting the Abutbuls. Meanwhile, police have announced no new leads in their investigation into the shooting of Charlie Abutbul.
