The US consulate evacuated 105 Americans from the Gaza Strip Wednesday because of an Israeli military incursion there, a spokeswoman said.
The US evacuation was the second from Gaza since Israel launched a ground operation in the area on June 28, said Micaela Schweitzer-Bluhm, spokeswoman for the US consulate in east Jerusalem.
So far, the consulate has organized the evacuation of 173 Americans from the coastal area, Schweitzer-Bluhm said.
The Americans who were leaving Wednesday would be brought to Amman where they would travel home, she added.
