A career soldier surrendered to security forces on Thursday evening after he barricaded himself inside a house in the northern village of Arab el-Heib and began shooting indiscriminately at people in the area, wounding two. MDA Gilboa teams evacuated one of the casualties, who was moderately wounded, to the Poriya Hospital in Tiberias for treatment. The condition of the other casualty was unclear. The soldier had been was banished from the village after he and his family were involved in fierce dispute with neighbors, resulting in one man being run over and killed. Special negotiation teams and elite Border Police were on the scene. Following the incident, Road 77 between the Beit Rimon and Movil junctions was closed to traffic.
