Bar-Ilan University president Prof. Moshe Kaveh said on Thursday that the police were right to open an investigation into statements by Bar-Ilan professor Hill Weiss made during the evacuation of the Hebron marketplace on Tuesday. Weiss cursed Judea Division commander Col. Yehuda Fuchs, saying "may his wife be a widow, his mother bereaved, and his children orphans." Kaveh called Weiss's statements "chilling" and said they should be condemned. He also said he intended to consult a lawyer to find out whether he could take disciplinary steps against Weiss in addition to any investigation the police were conducting.
