Barak to name Vilna'i deputy on Sunday

Labor Party chairman Defense Minister Ehud Barak, intends to announce the appointment of MK Matan Vilna'i as deputy defense minister in a meeting of the Labor central committee at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds on Sunday. The committee is also expected to adopt a proposal for the party to leave Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's coalition if Olmert does not quit by the final Winograd Report's expected release in September or October. Barak is expected to clarify at the event whether he is serious about leaving his post as defense minister just three months after entering the position.
