Beilin: No peace deal in 2008 unless talks are stepped up dramatically

MK Yossi Beilin (Meretz), a veteran negotiator, says a peace deal won't be reached with the Palestinians unless the pace of talks is stepped up dramatically. The two sides have made little progress in talks that began last fall. The US is pushing for a deal by the end of 2008. Beilin told a news conference Tuesday that there's no chance of an agreement unless teams from both sides lock themselves in a room and keep working without letup.
