Likud Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu claimed Wednesday that Hamas has lately been on the brink of economic collapse, and that Israel has been the one supplying the Palestinian Authority with funding. "The only way to defeat Hamas is to deal with extremists in the PA by cutting off the flow of funds," Netanyahu said in his speech at the Israel Leadership Mission of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. He added that "Israel needs to take immensely harsh measures in order to neutralize the Iranian threat, and work toward putting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on trial in an international court, for planning to commit genocide."
