Bill passed naming Gaza periphery 'conflict zone'

The Knesset passed a bill in its first reading Wednesday that will officially declare Gaza Strip periphery towns and Sderot as "conflict zones," Israel Radio reported. Seventy-four members voted for the bill which will ensure residents receive a 50 percent reduction in property tax until the end of 2008.
