The Knesset plenum approved on Wednesday the preliminary reading of a bill that would effectively prevent a planned gay pride parade from taking place in Jerusalem. The bill, proposed by MK Eliyahu Gabbai (NU-NRP), would give city councils power to prohibit marches and parades out of concern for public safety, public opinion, or religious reasons.
